Her research project, titled "Comparing Econmic Outcomes Post-Communist Countries with Personal Views of Religiosity versus Naturalism," represented the liberal studies program at the UH College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.

This year's group of students represented more than 10 colleges and 30 academic departments and included the 2012 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) students and members of the UH Honors College.

Three students gave oral presentations of their research on topics covering biology, earth and atmospheric sciences, and mathematics while more than 100 presented posters showcasing their research projects conducted within the last year.

Undergraduate Research Day is coordinated by the UH Office of Undergraduate Research and The Honors College.
