Patrick Xu Presents Research at UH Undergraduate Research Day

2012 Oct 17

Patrick Xu, a University of Houston electrical engineering major from Houston, Texas, was one of more than 100 undergraduates who presented research at Undergraduate Research Day at the University of Houston (UH).

Xu is a 2012 SURF student. His research project, representing the electrical and computer engineering department at the Cullen College of Engineering, involved the analysis of hyperspectral images, multi-dimensional images collected by sensors mounted on airborne and spaceborne platforms.

Undergraduate Research Day showcases the achievements of undergraduate researchers from a wide variety of majors and colleges at the UH. This year's group of students represented more than 10 colleges and 30 academic departments and included the 2012 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) students and members of the UH Honors College.

Three students gave oral presentations of their research on topics covering biology, earth and atmospheric sciences, and mathematics while more than 100 presented posters showcasing their research projects conducted within the last year.

Undergraduate Research Day is coordinated by the UH Office of Undergraduate Research and The Honors College.
