Ann Pacheco Presents Research at UH Undergraduate Research Day

Ann Pacheco, a University of Houston biology major from Houston, Texas, was one of more than 100 undergraduates who presented research at Undergraduate Research Day at the University of Houston (UH).

Pacheco is a 2012 SURF student. Her research project, titled "Identifying and Evaluating Barriers to Physical Activity of Mexican Children through Objective Observation," represented the department of health and human performance at the UH College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.

Undergraduate Research Day showcases the achievements of undergraduate researchers from a wide variety of majors and colleges at the UH. This year's group of students represented more than 10 colleges and 30 academic departments and included the 2012 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) students and members of the UH Honors College.

Three students gave oral presentations of their research on topics covering biology, earth and atmospheric sciences, and mathematics while more than 100 presented posters showcasing their research projects conducted within the last year.

Undergraduate Research Day is coordinated by the UH Office of Undergraduate Research and The Honors College.
