2012 Oct 17

Alicia San Miguel, a University of Houston psychology major from Houston, Texas, was one of more than 100 undergraduates who presented research at Undergraduate Research Day at the University of Houston (UH).

San Miguel was born in Santa Barbara, California, and raised in Houston. She attends the University of Houston - Downtown, but she is involved with undergraduate research at the UH main campus. Her research project, "Memory for What, Where, and When in Everyday Situations," was done in affiliation with UH-Downtown.

Undergraduate Research Day showcases the achievements of undergraduate researchers from a wide variety of majors and colleges at the UH. This year's group of students represented more than 10 colleges and 30 academic departments and included the 2012 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) students and members of the UH Honors College.

Three students gave oral presentations of their research on topics covering biology, earth and atmospheric sciences, and mathematics while more than 100 presented posters showcasing their research projects conducted within the last year.

Undergraduate Research Day is coordinated by the UH Office of Undergraduate Research and The Honors College.
